About the Artist
Harry W. Eichelberger III is a fine artist working in many mediums including oil & acrylic paint, ceramics, sculpture and collaborations with dancers and writers. He received his BFA from Tyler School of Art in Photography along with a minor in art history and his teaching certification. During his time living in Rome, Italy he pursued photography under Lucy Clink & Alessandro Zanazzo, sculpture under Roberto Mannino and printmaking under Mario Teleri Biason. During his tenure in Rome he was one of four recipients of the Gianni Caproni Art Prize. Most recently he has pursued his MFA in visual studies from Wilson College. While at Wilson he approached visual studies with a heavy focus on interdisciplinary learning and creating. Throughout this process he worked with many talented dancers, choreographers, and writers. Harry is proud to have been part of the choreography development and dance in several staged movement pieces while at Wilson College. This collaborative environment aided Harry in working with other choreographers such as Shylo Martinez to develop sculpture that would later be used in her stage performance of her show E P O C H. For the 150th year at Wilson College he worked with renown choreographer Cleo Mack to develop an interdisciplinary work of art that blended dance, sculpture, and performance art to transform Laird Hall. He is currently an Artist Educator at Academy Park High School where develops his students into visual artists with a strong emphasis on their personal artistic vision while having a wide skill set and history of knowledge of the arts. By both teaching and creating art he uses his position to work collaboratively with students and show them the realities of the art world from first hand experience.
